CTN Spotlight on ... Tiffany!
CTNX: Hello Tiffany, it's a pleasure to speak with you! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
TL: My name is Tiffany Liu and I'm a Taiwanese-American who is pursuing to becoming an animator. I'm currently attending school at Cal State Fullerton majoring in animation. I love traditional hand-drawn animation but I also love exploring different mediums of animation such as 3D animation and puppet stop-motion.
CTNX: When and how did your relationship with CTN begin?
TL: I first heard of CTN when I was in my second year in college in 2012. Although I heard of the exhibition I have never attended one due to schedule conflict. Last year's CTN expo was my first time going to the event.
CTNX: What have your positions been with CTNX and what have you learned most from your experience working with CTN?
TL: I attended as a volunteer and worked as a doorman. After participating at the event, I learned that communicating with fellow staff members were important while working. At the start of my shift, my group was having issue dealing with customers' questions because we were not given some information in regards to the expo's event schedule. This caused some confusion among the staff group and the attendees.
CTNX: What are your ultimate career goals?
TL: My goal is to work in an animation studio for children's cartoon shows such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, etc.
CTNX: How does working with CTN help you meet those goals?
TL: By working with CTN, I was able to see different artists' works and get to know what the industry was looking for in new artists. Overall, it was a great opportunity to get connect with the art community.
CTNX: What have you learned most from your experience working with CTN?
TL: Working experience, communication with staff members, and dealing with different situations
CTNX: What do you look forward to most in the coming years regarding your career?
TL: More opportunity to get internship or job in the entertainment industry
