CTN Spotlight on ... Diedre!
CTNX: Hello Diedre, it's a pleasure to speak with you! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
DM: I'm a born & raised Californian who tends to be shy until the conversation allows me to add my thoughts. I am also a former graduate of Media Arts & Animation who tries to draw characters that sort of show their personalities.
CTNX: When and how did your relationship with CTN begin?
DM: I tried to volunteer for the CTNX in November of 2015, but all the volunteer spots were full by the time I could reply. I tried to volunteer again for November of 2016 which was successful. I was able to help & be inspired at this event. I want to return to get these feelings again & obtain move experience.
CTNX: What have your positions been with CTNX and what have you learned most from your experience working with CTN?
DM: I was positioned for registration duty at CTNX, but was positioned to help guide people to the correct events based of the tickets they had.
CTNX: What are your ultimate career goals?
DM: I want to gain a career in 2D animator or Character designer because those careers are what inspired me to work on my drawing of characters & picturing them in motion.
CTNX: How does working with CTN help you meet those goals?
DM: CTN helps to meet these goals by allowing me the pleasure to look at other artists', animatiors', & studios' work. I am also able to sometimes having conversations with them to obtain tips to my goals or improve my skills, but also gain connections.
CTNX: What have you learned most from your experience working with CTN?
DM: Working with CTN allowed my experience on resumes to look more acceptable. I learned to try to be more social in order to put myself out there. I also realized that almost every artists are inspired by each other or other interesting subjects.
CTNX: What do you look forward to most in the coming years regarding your career?
DM: I look forward to the most is being in my career(s) when I have become skilled enough to obtain them.
